SHORT SHARP SHANTIES ON TOUR with Jackie
Oates, Jeff Warner, Keith Kendrick, Tom and Barbara Brown, Doug Bailey
Following
the consistently excellent reviews of the three CDs which form part of the
Short Sharp Shanties project, the ‘crew’ which launched the series is taking to
the road for a few special concert dates this Autumn.
But this is
no ordinary set of bellowing shanties: the performers bring a variety of
styles, instruments and presentations to what promises to be a richly varied
selection of material from the huge range that Cecil Sharp collected from John
Short of Watchet in 1914.
